Rachel Asks – the Eleven Blog Tag

19 11 2012

The wonderfully hilarious Rachel Radiostar has challenged bloggers to answer the following eleven questions…

1. First crush – who and would you now?

I don’t really remember who it was! I had a huge crush on a boy about three or four years above me at primary school and when I asked him if he’d marry me, he said that if I and a dungbeetle were the last creatures on earth, he’d marry the dungbeetle. Romantic stuff.

2. Most expensive single thing you have bought except houses/cars.

Ooh, good question. I’m massively frugal – I hate spending money! My mum normally has to force me to. Probably my first laptop – it arrived whilst I was in hospital having an op on my leg and coming home to my very own laptop was possibly the most exciting thing ever when faced with the prospect of six weeks in plaster!

3. Your first memory.

I have a vague memory of sitting on the top bunk looking down at my sister in our first house, which we moved from when I was three. I also remember my first nursery school which was around the same time – I can still picture the poster on the wall and playing ‘hot and cold’ looking for a custard cream!

4. What was your best subject at school?

I was a total geek at school, especially in the last few years. I loved everything. I honestly couldn’t choose a favourite subject. My best subject was English, but that was cheating really because, living in France, it was being taught as a second language in the same way that one would study French in England!

5. Have you had your 15 minutes of fame yet?

Nope!

6. Golden balls – would you split or steal?

I have absolutely no idea what this means…

7. What’s your favourite film of all time? I’ll allow you two!

Of all time?!?! That’s so hard! I love Christmas films, there’s a list in our family that has to be watched each year! Every Christmas Eve I sit with my siblings and we watch A Muppet Christmas Carol – we have done since it first came out! I love it because although we know it totally off by heart, it’s a part of the ritual of Christmas in our house.

8. Have you ever told a white lie – only to be found out?

Yep, lots! I’m not very good at saying no to people. I was a member of a book club thing where they send you books to try to make you buy them. They were a total pain, but when I phoned up to cancel it they asked why and I told them that I was moving to Belgium! I now have to hide when I go past the shop.

9. Most romantic gesture you have given/received.

That would be none. I’m a hopeless spinster.

10. Do you like Marmite?

I don’t just like Marmite, I love it. You can’t get it either at home in France or here in Germany and a lovely friend of mine occasionally sends me a jar. It’s so delicious! I love it on hot toast with an egg… mmmm.

11. What’s your favourite joke?

Erm… I like my brother’s favourite.

What’s invisible and smells of bananas? Monkey farts!

Over to you – can you answer the questions?!
